He served as president of the Montana Quarter Horse Association and of the Montana Angus Association. He was a State of Montana Horse Racing Steward, a Montana State Fair Advisory Board Member (2 terms), and a longtime member of the American Quarter Horse Association and the American Angus Association. Pepper is sur- vived by his wife, Barbara, daughter, Jamie Wood, and many other family members and friends.
Dale Rouk Passes Away
Dale Stewart Rouk, 79, passed away Jan.
1. Rouk was a member of the Keeneland sales team for over 40 years until he retired in 2009. While working at the Quarter Horse Journal,
he met Tom Caldwell and the two partnered in the California-based Caldwell-Heerman Sales Company. Rouk served as Sales Manager of the Ruidoso Horse Sale Company, worked for Ocala Breeders’ Sales and numerous Quarter Horse auc- tions, was a founding member of the Panhandle Team Penners Association of Amarillo, was twice named Texas Thoroughbred Association Breeder of the Year, and was well-known at Quarter Horse and Thoroughbred auctions across the country.

Swissle Stick was third in the Charles Town Dash Invitational and in the Anderson Fowler Stakes. He is a multiple stakes sire of both Quarter Horses and Thoroughbreds, including 3-time stakes winner Sippin TB (2016, $217,047) and Swiss Chris si 99 (2016, $126,039).
