Bh Lisas Boy scored his tenth stakes victory in the $49,680 Bank Of America Los Alamitos Championship Challenge on Aug. 11.
Under Jesus Ayala, the gelding broke in sixth
from the 1-post. They battled throughout the 440 yards, grabbing the lead in the stretch to win by a nose in :21.481, for a 99 speed index.
The gelding brought home the $23,846 win- ner’s share home for breeder/owner/trainer Bill Hoburg, boosting his total lifetime earnings to an impressive $582,662. He now has a race record of 33-19(10)-8(5)-2(0).
BH Lisas Boy has raced exclusively at Los Alamitos since mid-2016. His stakes victo-
ries include this year’s Brad McKinzie Winter Championship-G1. Before Los Alamitos, he raced at Emerald Downs where he set two New Track Records for 440 yards as well as Arapahoe Park where he won the Arapahoe Derby Challenge.
Hoburg bred BH Lisas Boy out of Apollo Snowbound, 2002 Far West Futurity-RG3 finalist. She has produced 100% winners from five starters, includ- ing Northwest Hi-Point Distance Horse and stakes winner Yin Your Eyes as well as Northwest Hi-Point Three-Year-Old Gelding BH Country Chrome. BH Lisas Boy is her second stakes winner and top earner.
Champion Hold Air Hostage (Apollitical Jess-Fols Zookie Cookie) finished second under Jose Nicasio for owner Darling Farms and trainer Jaime Gomez.
Katies Easy Moves (Maknmoves-Katie Lane Finder) and Eduardo Nicasio were third for owner O-So Smart LLC and trainer Monty Arrossa.
Kissed By An Eagle (One Famous Eagle- Dreaming Of Kisses), Flash N Bing (First Down Dash-Suzy Cartel), The Charm Of Corona (Corona Cartel-Charm Dance), Arizona Icon (Texas Icon-Jess Perfect Girl) and Joe Legacy (Brookstone Bay-A Diamond Legacy) completed the order of finish.

SP FOUR SQUARE

SP Four Square got the best of the pre-race favorite getting to the finish line first by 1/2-length in the $18,200 Wyoming Downs Renegade Sports Derby on Aug. 11.
Jesus Valenzuela brought SP Four Square out of the 8-gate and the gelding got stronger with every stride in the derby. He was running third at the first call, then grabbed the lead and was in front by a neck as he reached the stretch, pulling away to win the race.
A three-year-old gelding owned by Jess Udy, SP Four Square posted his first-ever victory in stakes company, reaching the winner’s circle for the fourth time in a career that has included 13 outs to date.
An 11-1 underdog who logged the fourth- quickest time in the derby trials, SP Four Square finished his 400-yard qualifying run in :20.078. He was faster in the stakes final, completing his trip in :19.784 for a 96 speed index.
Riley Moosman trains SP Four Square, who banked an $8,554 payday that boosted his total bankroll to $23,575.
Spencer Peterson bred SP Four Square out of lightly raced Fountain Bleu. She has produced 100% money earners from three starters, including Western States Breeders Futurity winner Mahoney N Tackleberry.
LT Heza Winner (Winners Version-Nurturist) and Uriel Dominguez finished second for owner Aron Saenz and trainer Diana Garfias.
Just Had To Be (Hadtobenuts-Just Wanna Teller) finished third under Jesus Osuna for owners Alan Ostdahl and Tyler Gibbs, who is also the trainer.
Champion Winner (Winners Version-Champion Ways), JV Power Wagon (Wagons West-SC Jessica), CD Seperate Dynasty (FDD Dynasty-Separate Debt), Mr Soul (Furyofthewind-McKaizlees Kiss), Acadillac (Azoom-Louisiana Cadillac) and Mountain Vista (JR Dynasty Mountain-Visual Evidence) completed the order of finish. Mr Sam Bojangles was scratched.
