The Ruidoso New Mexico Bred Sale was held Aug. 16-17 at the Ruidoso Downs Sales Pavilion. Quarter Horse year-
lings sold both Friday and Saturday and featured three high-sellers who exceeded six-figures. The third annual Ruidoso Select Foal-In-Utero sale was held during Saturday’s session.
Considering only Quarter Horse sales, yearlings saw 170 horses offered and a total of 151 horses sold with preliminary gross sales reaching more than $2.9 mil- lion. The $19,226 sale average was up 16% compared to $16,603 last year.
The high seller at $117,000 was
Hip# 174 Flash Me To The Moon (First Moonflash-Lady Jessie Dee, Mr Jess Perry), a brown colt consigned by Crystal Springs Farm and purchased by Stan Sigman and Johnny Trotter. The colt is by Champion/Champion sire First Moonflash and out of a full sister to Champions Noconi and Brenda Beautiful.
The second highest-seller at
$115,000 was Hip# 168, Get Ripped (Woodbridge-Ms Riptide, Ocean Runaway), a chestnut filly consigned
by MJ Farms and purchased by Martin Ibarra. Get Ripped is a sister to 2019 All American Futurity-G1 fastest qualifier Mister Riptide and out of stakes winner Ms Riptide.
