Tom Lepic, of Iowa City, Iowa, is an AQHA Racing Committee member who actively
works to improve American Quarter Horse
racing in Iowa and beyond. Lepic was instrumen- tal in orchestrating the 2012 Bank of America Challenge Championships at Prairie Meadows. The successful event had the largest attendance of any Challenge Championship in several years. In addition, Lepic has worked hard to pass favorable racing legislation and improve racing opportunities for American Quarter Horses in Iowa, including raising purses, increasing dates and implementing a stand-alone meet at Prairie Meadows. He regularly acts as an industry representative during state com- mission and legislative meetings. Lepic is a member of the AQHA champions task force committee. He also serves as the chairman of the marketing, stakes and legislation committees for the Iowa Quarter Horse Racing Association.
A former jockey, Lepic was the leading
owner at the 2012 Quarter Horse meet at Prairie Meadows. But he also races horses at tracks across
the country. A member of the Iowa Quarter Horse Racing Hall of Fame, Lepic, in a partnership, most notably raced champion Spit Curl Diva and Prairie Meadows Hall of Famer Eye The Hawkeye.
Lepic owns Lepic-Kroeger Realtors, Inc., one of the largest independently and locally-owned real estate companies in Iowa. A retired teacher and coach, Lepic is very involved in his commu- nity, and speaks regularly at civic functions.
