LQHBA Laddie Futurity-RG2
SHAKESHAKESHAKEIT

Despite a third place finish in his April 28 trial heat, Shakeshakeshakeit had given his connections plenty of reason for optimism
heading into the $359,715 LQHBA Laddie Futurity-RG2 at Delta Downs on May 19.
Antonio Alberto, who was aboard the sorrel gelding in his maiden out in the trials, was back aboard for the main event. The rider had been working with the gelding and trainer Michael Taylor since January.
“He ran third in his trial, but he didn’t miss by much and ran a good time,” Alberto said in a video interview just days before the Laddie Futurity. “He was a little under the weather that night, but he muscled through it. I think he is going to improve a lot.”
And, improve he did.
Shakeshakeshakeit broke well and raced
in sixth position early, but closed fast in the stretch to get up in time, beating Fastcopata by a nose at the finish. Shakeshakeshakeit stopped the timer for the 330 yards in :16.684, earning a 97 speed index.
“We had a great trip,” Alberto said. “He was standing great. He started to get a little anxious when they reloaded the 10. He broke pretty good, stayed clear. He was running his race and
about midway I asked him. He closed and won the race.”
With the win, the long- striding Shakeshakeshakeit improved his record to 2-1(1)- 0-1. The record-breaking purse had a winner’s share worth $179,858, boosting his bankroll to $181,178 for owner Show Me Da Money LLC.
Dr. Tommy Hays, a
spokesperson for Show Me
Dat Money LLC partnership
said, “This was a thrill for us. It’s a special part- nership, a group of ten and we have a lot of fun. We want to thank Mike Taylor and his racing team. This horse has a lot of class and will get better as he goes down the road.”
Shakeshakeshakeit will be pointed toward the Lee Berwick Futurity-RG1 trials in June.
Bred by Copper Spring Ranch LLC, Shakeshakeshakeit is the first stakes winner produced out of 2-time winner Rebas In The House, who was a finalist in the 2007 Texas Classic Futurity-G1 and 2008 Texas Classic Derby-G1 en route to career of $47,542. As a broodmare, she is the dam of 5 winners from 8
starters, including stakes- placed Ima Gone Reba, who finished second in last year’s Laddie Futurity-RG2.
Fastcopata (Heza Fast Dash-Cocopata) was 2nd under John Hamilton for owner Ramiro Jaime Flores and trainer Eduardo Morales. The colt debuted in his trial heat where he finished a close 2nd.
Acoronas Toast (Coronas Leaving You-Toast of Magic)
and jockey Eddie Sanchez were 3rd, dueling throughout. The gelding is owned by Laura Estrella and trained by Roberto Madrigal. He won his career debut in February at Louisiana Downs and then won his trial heat to enter the Laddie Futurity undefeated in 2 starts.
Followed by Bullyonfire (Highest Fire-MCM Premo Dash), Zoomin Patriot (Jet Black Patriot- Zippy Zoomer), Mr Empressario (Point Break Dash-Feature Lucy), Mr Range Rover (Heza Fast Dash-Dashformoomoo), TDZ Going Nuts (FDD Going Grand-Thequeenhasgonenuts), Adored Pilot (Mr Piloto-Adored Bigtime) and Runaway Roulette (Sir Runaway Dash-Lovers Dash).
