 Remington Park Ends 2022 Mixed Meet
Remington Park ended their 2022 mixed meet on May 28 with a 29% increase in attendance and a 14.4% increase in live parimutuel handle, despite a decrease in races from 550 in 2021 to 518 this year.
On the final day of the meet Elizabeth Logan’s 2-year-old gelding Tres Crystals made history after winning the Heritage Place Futurity-G1, becoming the only
horse to win the two major open company futurities, having also won the Oklahoma Futurity-G2. Tres Crystals (Tres Seis- Crystal Sola, Walk Thru Fire) was named Remington’s Champion Horse of the Meet for Logan and trainer Dee Keener. The Champion 3 Year Old and Champion Oklahoma-Bred Horse was Dreamsville (Hes Relentless-Answer The Dream); Champion Older Male went to AQHA 2021 World Champion Danjer (FDD Dynasty- Shez Jess Toxic); Champion Older Female Pops First Lady (Apollitical Jess-Shazooms Pop Pop); Champion Distance Runner Wascallywittlewabbit (Heza Motor Scooter- Rabbits N Diamonds); Champion Claiming Horse Relentless Form (Hes Relentless- Unique Form); Champion Paint Signs Of Livewire (CRM Livewire-Signs Of PYC QH); and Champion Appaloosa Queen For Cash (Hes Relentless QH-Ivory Queen). Additional 2022 meet leaders include: Matt Dunn’s Dunn Ranch secured their second consecutive leading owner title with 12 wins; Santos Carrizales Jr. was the leading trainer with 36 wins as well as the leading trainer by money earned; and Francisco Calderon was the leading jockey with 39 wins. Elizabeth Logan was the leading owner by money earned, while Bryan Candanosa in his first meet at Remington was the leading jockey by money earned.
 Leading Jockey Rodriguez Injured In Spill
The 2021 leading rider in the nation with 147 wins, Everardo Rodriguez suffered a traumatic spill at Delta Downs on June
3. Rodriguez, 33, was aboard 2-year-old
TF Fortunate One (One Sweet Jess-Sheza Fortune, Heza Fast Dash) in a 220-yard
maiden race when the gelding was bumped, fell, and lost his rider nearing the finish line. It appeared the horse rolled on top of Rodriguez, who was transported to Lake Charles Memorial Hospital where he was experiencing bleeding on the brain and a compression fracture in his back. He was then LifeFlighted to Christus Southeast Hospital in Texas. He is now in a back- brace and is expected to be released soon
to be confined to his home for an 8-week period of rest. Early reports indicate a full recovery and a return to riding, following medical evaluations. TF Fortunate One was humanely euthanized due to injuries from the spill. Rodriguez has won 691 races with earners of more than $11.2 million.
Texas To Cease Export Of Simulcast Signal To Evade HISA
Executive director of the Texas Racing Commission Amy Cook on June 13 issued
a letter to “All Occupational and Business Licensees” stating that the import and export
of pari-mutuel simulcast signals will not be conducted at Texas racetracks if the Horseracing Integrity and Safety Authority (HISA) asserts control over regulatory supervision on July

  NWR For Divas First Anita
Divas First Anita (Divas First Down-Julies Lil Jess, Mr Jess Perry) set a New World Record for 110-yards at the Hipodromo de las Americas in Mexico City on Feb. 13. The 4-year-old sorrel filly covered the distance in :6.660 for a 116 speed index while winning the Francisco Pasquel Classic. Divas First Anita has earned $99,790, also winning the 2021 Mexico Derby.
