 another of CRM Livewire’s progeny, Bully Pulpit, won the Spots N Dots Stakes. The Joneses also own Bully Pulpit.
“He doesn’t have to prove himself; he’s proven already,” Jones said of CRM Livewire. “It’s still very wonderful when his foals are up there.”
The Joneses also own Ze Southern Girl, the Quarter Horse dam of Southern Electric. The 2007 mare had a brief racing career before becoming a broodmare.
Future plans for Southern Electric include running in the Pot O Gold Futurity at Will Rogers Downs. As for the Speedhorse Triple Crown? It concludes at Will Rogers Downs in the fall.
DTL Chasin Tale APHA (Wagon Tales QH-Shez Showin Off) settled for second place this time, with Smith aboard. DTL Teel Partnership owns the gelding, who also is trained by Blackwell.
Charlie Rising APHA (CRM Livewire-Rare Wine), the third-place finisher, is owned by Jay Ross and trained by Dee Keener. James Flores got the riding call.
The remaining order of finish was Twisted Fashion APHA (CRM Livewire-Ima Fashionista QH), Onlycloverofmine APHA (Capo de Capi QH-Onlytreasureofmine), CL Fake News APHA (Coronado Cartel QH-Hot Southern Mess), DTL Smooth Criminal APHA (Coronado Cartel QH-Eysa Savvy Queen), PHQ Apollitical Jess APHA (Apollitical Jess QH-PHQ Princess Stef), Lotto Livewire APHA (CRM Livewire-Lotto Texas) and JS Kool Hand Luke APHA (Kool Wagon QH-Linda Lajolla).
