                                DTL CHASIN TALE
Leads Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Triple Crown High Point Standings
The Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Triple Crown awards two Champions – the Triple Crown Champion and the Triple Crown Hi- Point Champion. This year marks the eighth year of the Speedhorse sponsored event.
The first and second legs of the Triple Crown were won by different horses; therefore, we will not have a Triple Crown Winner this year. The Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Championship Futurity-G1 at Will Rogers Downs on Nov. 9 will determine the Speedhorse Hi-Point Triple Crown Champion. To be eligible for the Hi- Point Champion award, horses must enter the trials to all three races and compete in two of three trials. They will receive points according to finishing positions in the finals of each race.
The first leg, the $259,400 Speedhorse Graham Paint & Appaloosa Futurity-G1,
was won by the Paint gelding DTL Chasin Tale (Wagon Tales-Shez Shown Off, Royal Quick Flash) at Remington Park on June 1. Charlie Rising finished second in this race, and Southern Electric was third.
The second leg was the $102,800 Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Futurity-G1 at Tulsa Fair Meadows on July 27 and was won by Southern Electric (CRM Livewire- Ze Southern Girl QH, Southern Cartel). DTL Chasin Tale was second and Charlie Rising third.
Currently, there are three top contenders for the Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Triple Crown Hi-Point Champion award. Following the second leg, the Paint gelding DTL Chasin Tale leads the point standings with 19, followed by the Paint gelding Southern Electric with 18 points, and the Paint gelding Charlie Rising (CRM Livewire-Rare Wine, Treasured) has 17 points.
The Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Triple Crown Hi-Point Champion will receive a crystal trophy and additional awards, including a $5,000 cash bonus.
