HONEYS PAINTED POP

Buckey Stockwell has done well in Canada with Oklahoma-bred foals out of the mare Gols Honey
Money Pop.
In 2017, Stockwell’s Honeys
Pop A Tac finished second in the Canada Quarter Horse Cup Futurity-G3.
This year, Stockwell won the $34,581 John Deere Evergreen Park Juvenile Challenge with Honeys Painted Pop.
Honeys Painted Pop finished sec- ond to fastest-qualifier Light Footed
that margin to the top of the stretch where he aired it out and won by 1 1/2-lengths in :18.346 for 350 yards.
The $16,600 winner’s share pushed the geldings earnings to $17,397 and his record is now 2-1(1)-1-0.
Stockwell also trains Honeys Painted Pop and owns him with Tracey Beakstead and Bob Perlich.
Gary Kurz bred both Honeys Painted Pop and Honeys Pop A
Tac and sold them as yearlings at Heritage Place. Stockwell purchased Honeys Pop A Tac in 2017 from Kurz for $8,700. The next year, Kurz consigned Honeys Painted Pop to the yearling sale with Lazy E Ranch as agent. Bret Vickery, who has trained for Stockwell at Los Alamitos, signed the ticket for $20,000.
Kurz bred and raced Gols
Honey Money Pop, who earned $69,108 in her race career winning the 2010 Sam Houston Juvenile Challenge-G3. The mare has three starters, and all of them are winners.
William Leech owns and trains second-place Light Footed (Stel Corona-Chickafirst), who broke her maiden in the trials to this race as the fastest qualifier. Ricardo Moreno piloted the filly.
Ton Kenway bred, owns, and trains Double Cruise (BD Cruiser-Eye Cruise), who finished third under the guidance of Trevor Simpson. The colt previously won the Alberta Stallion Stakes Futurity at Century Mile.
Completing the field were Suits (First Timber-Burners Beauty) and Eyesa Cruiser (BD Cruiser-Eyesa Screamer). Allthespeedyouneed, Clear To See, and Quarter Sawn were scratched.
