                                    Hez Our Secret
Hez Our Secret (First Down Dash-Secret Separation, Separatist) will stand the 2018 sea- son at Lazy E Ranch in Guthrie, Oklahoma. The 2009 stallion raced from two years of
age to four, earning $887,426 while winning six races including the Z. Wayne Griffin Director’s Stakes. He was named the 2012 Champion 3-Year-Old Colt, leading all three- year-old money earners, for owner Johnny Trotter, and won or placed in six stakes when he retired from racing. From his first crop to race in 2017, Reliance Ranches LLC recently purchased from Trotter one half interest in Hez Our Secret, who is currently the leads all freshman sires by earnings and winners.
   Brad McKinzie Passes Away
Los Alamitos Race Course held a moment of silence to honor 30-year track executive Brad McKinzie, who passed away Aug. 6 at 62. McKinzie served as the vice president and general manager of the Los Alamitos Racing Association since 2014. He and partner Michael Lyon started the Finish Line Self Insurance Group, which provides worker’s compensation coverage for 99% of California Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse jockeys, exercise riders, and grooms. McKinzie is survived by his mother Jean, sister Lisa and brother Mark, along with many other family members and friends.
