Hes Relentless, the leading first-crop sire of 2019, was cut out to be something special from the very beginning. His swift
start at stud and the impact he is making provide testament to just how exceptional a horse he is and confirm his appeal and popularity with breeders.
Bred by Sunflower Supply Company and raced by the partnership of R.D. Hubbard, Tom Maher, William Maher, and Johnny Cope, Hes Relentless, like his Champion sire and millionaire One Famous Eagle, distinguished himself on the racetrack. He won or placed
in 13 of 15 lifetime starts, was named AQHA Champion 3-Year-Old Colt of 2014, set a 350- yard New Track Record at Remington Park, and banked $616,380 under the tutelage of trainer Jason Olmstead.
As a young stallion, it has been more of
the same for the handsome bay as he has also demonstrated precocity in the breeding shed at Bob Moore Farms near Norman, Oklahoma. Following full books of mares, his initial crop came out firing last year. Hes Relentless was represented by 38 winners and 11 stakes winners in 2019, including 3 graded stakes winners and 9 stakes-placed runners. His progeny earned a crop-best $2,123,119 in 2019, securing his title as the leading freshman sire.
“We always knew this horse had potential, but he exceeded all of our expectations,”
said Phillip Stewart, general manager of Bob Moore Farms. “It’s very humbling for all of us associated with him to have a horse like this. I know his primary owners, Mr. Maher and Mr. Hubbard, are over the moon that this horse stepped up like he did.”
