Super Sound Charge Handicap
DUCK DASH N GO
by Tracy Gantz
Duck Dash N Go took an eight-month break in 2019. Now racing in the name of Lex Fabrizio, Duck Dash N Go has won four times, with two
seconds and a fourth (when bumped from both sides) for her new owner.
Her most recent victory came in the Dec. 15 Super Sound Charge Handicap at Los Alamitos. Monty Arrossa has trained Duck Dash N Go
throughout her career. He put jockey Armando Cervantes up for the 300-yard Super Sound Charge.
As the 2-1 favorite, Duck Dash N Go went to the front immediately and received every call. She had a neck at the top of the stretch and won by that same margin in :15.240 for a 101 speed index.
Duck Dash N Go has now won 16 of 33 lifetime starts and earned $138,674. This was her fifth stakes victory, with her earlier successes including the 2018 Independence Day Handicap-G3. She also set a New Track record winning the Oneida County Fair Futurity.
Duck Dash N Go was an $18,000 purchase at the 2015 Heritage Place Yearling Sale. Bobby Cox bred her in Oklahoma from multiple graded stakes winner Duck Mea Running. Duck Mea Running has produced nine winners in 14 starters, including stakes-placed Makit Snappi and Mea Dominator.

Martha Wells homebreds finished first and third in the $15,000 Paul B. Ford Memorial Handicap at Los Alamitos on Dec. 1. The 550-yard
distance particularly appealed to Yanque, who as the 1-2 favorite won the event. Chicks Fayvorite, Wells’ other entry, finished third.
With Ruben Lozano aboard, Yanque broke in third and quickly flew to the lead. He increased his advantage throughout to score by 1 1/2-lengths. Yanque completed the distance in a hand-timed :26.600, posting a 118 speed index. The gelding now has a total bankroll of $149,761.
Yanque has started three times at 550 yards, and he also won the Scott Lewis Handicap at that dis- tance. In 2017, he got his first stakes victory in The Plan Handicap. The 4-year-old gelding has placed in four other stakes.
Matthew Fales trains Yanque and Chicks Fayvorite for Wells, who bred both of them in California. Yanque is out of Wells’ homebred graded stakes-placed mare Red Hawk Chick. Wells also campaigned Yanque’s second dam, stakes winner Chicks Tell. Red Hawk Chick has produced six start- ers, all winners, including stakes winners Zendaya and Red Hawk Cartel.
Minor Arana piloted Run Raging Rhino Run (FDD Dynasty-Love That Six) to second for owner Dan Wilson and trainer Felix Gonzalez. Earlier this year, the gelding captured the Turf Paradise Distance Challenge, Wheatland Handicap, and Barbra B Handicap.
