Tale took similar paths to their Co- Championships with each earning Grade 1 status early in the season. They went head
to head in several races during the year. DTL Chasin Tale earned his graded stakes win in the Oklahoma Paint & Appaloosa Futurity-G1 in March. Southern Electric finished seventh in that race and then earned his graded stakes win in the PSBA American Paint Classic Futurity-G1 in April.
DTL Chasin Tale has made 11 starts
with six wins and four seconds. He is also
the winner of the Victoria Ennis Memorial stakes, for three stakes wins in 2019. He earned $219,443. Southern Electric has made 12 starts with nine wins, one second and one third. The gelding placed second in the Pot O’ Gold Futurity, but was moved up to first when the winner was disqualified. Southern Electric ended the year with four stakes wins and earnings of $185,398. DLT Chasin Tale was fourth in the Pot O’ Gold Futurity.

Southern Electric is an APHA Solid gelding bred and owned by Dan and Kaye Jones. He is by CRM Livewire and out
of Ze Southern Girl, a Quarter Horse
by Southern Cartel. Southern Electric
is trained by Matt Whitekiller and he
was ridden by three different jockeys.
Cody Smith rode him in most of his
starts, including trial races, with Eugenio Navarrette riding him in the Speedhorse Graham Paint & Appaloosa Futurity-G1 and Andrew Samaniego in his wins in the Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Futurity-G1 and the Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Championship Futurity-G1.
Dan and Kaye Jones are also the breeders of CRM Livewire and raced him for three years. CRM Livewire is a 2-time APHA World Champion as well as Champion 2 Year Old, Champion 2-Year-Old Colt, Champion 3 Year Old, Champion 3-Year-Old Colt, Champion Aged Horse and Champion Aged Stallion, and was the APHA #1 Honor Roll Stallion three times.
CRM Livewire made 11 starts at three with five wins and three stakes wins in the Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Derby-G1, the APHA Masterpiece Challenge and the Talimena Handicap. CRM Livewire’s race record at four shows that he made four starts with one win in a stakes race and one second, earning $10,518 for the year. His stakes win came in the Green Country Handicap. In total, he made 22 starts with eight wins, five seconds and two thirds earning $100,708 in his career.
