CRM Livewire is now a million-dollar
sire with his foals earning over $1.1 million with seven stakes winners. His stakes winners include Bully Pulpit, the winner of the 2017 Speedhorse Graham Futurity-G1 and the 2017 PSBA American Paint Classic Futurity, and Hotwiredotcom, winner of the 2017 Oklahoma Paint & Appaloosa Futurity-G1 and the 2017 Speedhorse Triple Crown High-Point Champion.
Ze Southern Girl is the dam of Southern Electric. She was unplaced in three starts and is the dam of only one AQHA registered foal, DCM Verbal Apology by Cartel Success, the sire of CRM Livewire. She is the dam of two paint foals in Southern Electric and a full sister named Wired For Sound, a multiple stakes finalist in the 2018 Speedhorse Lone Star Paint & Appaloosa Futurity-G1 and
the Speedhorse Graham Paint & Appaloosa Futurity-G1.
Southern Cartel, the sire of Ze Southern Girl, is a Grade 2 stakes winner of 10 of
his 24 starts earning $360,361. His stakes wins include the 2003 Ruidoso Derby-G2 and the 2003 Lazy E Derby-G2. Southern Cartel sired three full crops between 2005 and 2007 before he succumbed to injuries from a barn fire in 2006 at JEH Stallion Station in Hondo, New Mexico. Southern Cartel was one of six stallions killed in the fire. The others included 1997 Horse of
the Year Favorite Trick, 2003 Champion
of Champions-G1 winner The Down Side and 2005 AQHA Champion Aged Stallion Fredricksburg.
The 332 foals by Southern Cartel were sired between 2005 and 2011 (two foals were born from frozen semen, one in 2010 and one in 2011) and give him a sire record of 233 starters that earned 198 ROM awards with 17 stakes winners and eight stakes placed runners. They earned over $6.2 million.
His leading money earner is Southern Takes All, winner of the 2007 Heritage Place Futurity-G1. Another Southern Cartel runner is BP Southern Mariah, a multiple stakes winner, including the 2008 Black Gold 330 Futurity. The dam of BP Southern Mariah is Dashing Mariah, the dam of Cartel Success who is the sire of CRM Livewire.
Southern Policy, the dam of Southern Cartel, raced from 1987 to 1989 with 22 starts, 11 wins, three second and four thirds. She was stakes placed in the 1987 Oil Capital Derby. She is the dam of 22 foals, 20 starters and 16 ROM with three stakes winners
and three stakes placed runners. Her stakes
 winners include 1997 All American Congress Derby-G3 winner Southern Dashing Val
and 2007 Oklahoma Futurity-G3 winner CC Policy. One of her stakes placed runners was Down South Dash, who was third in the 1993 Golden State Futurity-G1 and 1994 El Primero Del Ano Derby-G1.
Southern Price by Corona Cartel is a race winning daughter out of Southern Policy. She is the dam of Priceless Feature, a 3-time stakes winner including the 2013 Remington Park Invitational Championship where he set a New Track Record of :20.981 for 440 yards. He also won the 2013 Sooner State Stakes-G1 and the 2012 Heritage Place Derby-G2.
Reb’s Policy TB is the sire of Southern Policy. This 1967 bay stallion made 16 starts in Thoroughbred races with eight wins, two seconds and one third earning $83,650.
He won two stakes races in the Hollywood Express Handicap in 1970 and the Meteor Handicap in 1971. Reb’s Policy sired 581 Quarter Horse foals with 448 starters, 327 ROM and 31 stakes winners. His leading runner was the legendary Town Policy, a four time AQHA Champion including the 1977 Racing Champion 2 Year Old and 1978 AQHA Champion 3-Year-Old Gelding,
a title he repeated as the 1980 AQHA Champion Aged Gelding.
Reb’s Policy is by New Policy by Khaled by Hyperion. The dam of Khalad is Éclair by Ethnarch by the great source of speed The Tetrarch. The dam of New Policy is Feu Follet by Fair Trial by Fairway. The dam of Fair Trial is Lady Juror by Son-In-Law and out of Lady Josephine. Lady Josephine is the dam of Mumtaz Mahal who was sired by The Tetrarch. Mumtaz Mahal was the dam of Nasrullah and the grand dam of Royal Charger, both prominent Thoroughbred stallions that are both found in the pedigree of the Triple Crown winner Seattle Slew
in a collateral linebreeding pattern. Collateral relatives are full siblings and 3/4-siblings. Royal Charger and Nasrullah are 3/4-brothers.
As we look at the pedigree of Southern Electric, we see that he has a breeding pattern of 7x7x4 to Reb’s Policy. His broodmare sire, Southern Cartel, has a breeding pattern of 5x2 to Reb’s Policy, and his sire also has a fifth generation appearance of Reb’s Policy.
Due Be Fast is the dam of Southern Policy and is a winner of five races in her 19 starts. She earned $10,820. Due Be Fast is the dam of five foals with just two starters, including Southern Bud who earned $17,098 in 38 starts and was a finalist in the 1993 AQHA Distance Challenge Championship-G1.
