ONE SWEET RACY

One Sweet Racy captured the AQHA Distaff Challenge Championship-G1, a race originally scheduled for Bank of America
Challenge Championship night at Los Alamitos Nov. 17. A gate malfunction caused that race to be declared a no contest.
Each horse received $10,000, dividing the purse equally. Dr. Ed Allred of Los Alamitos then put up another $100,000 himself and resched- uled the race for Dec. 2.
Ridden by Eduardo Nicasio, One Sweet Racy quickly went to the lead. She never relinquished it, holding off closing Tickle Ur Fancy by a nose in :19.872 for 400 yards.
“Eduardo said she got a little bit tired at the very end,” said Christopher O’Dell, who trains O n e S w e e t R a c y f o r o w n e r J o h n n y Tr o t t e r . “What a great mare. We are so thankful that

A 4-year-old filly, One Sweet Racy won the 2018 Boehringer Ingelheim Los Alamitos Distaff Challenge-G3. She placed in four
stakes, including the 2017 All American Derby-G1.
In the no-contest event, One Sweet Racy broke through the gate, grabbing a quarter.
“We had to patch that
up a little bit and work on it,” said O’Dell. “That put us a little bit behind, but everyone was pretty much on the same boat. She grabbed
a spot and tore a little bit
of skin off. Fortunately, it wasn’t a huge deal and we were able to take care of it.”
