ESPEJO MISIONERO

The sixth edition of this Classic for two- year-old runners, who were not winners at the time of nomination, was held Nov. 11 at a distance of 330-yards with a total prize of $283,700 pesos (approx. $13,998 US).
Of the 10 horses entered, the fillies Special Annie First and SE Mountain Fix were scratched. The eight remaining participants broke from the gates with such quickness that, at the start, Dancer Eyesa Ze (#3) drifted out and hit GS Special (#4) and then affected Espejo Misionero (#6), who came out ready
to give battle in the center of the track under the command of rider Eddi Cuéllar. Espejo Misionero dominated his rivals and crossed the wire 1/2-length in front over the grey filly One Cash (#1). Espejo Misionero completed the course in :16.61 for an 86 speed index.
Crossing the finish in third place, Dancer Eyesa Ze (#3) was disqualified by the stewardess to last. The same action was taken against Saggara Dancer (#7) for his infraction on NC Lucky (#9) at the end of the course, moving her to fourth place.
The gelding Espejo Misionero is by Crimson Corona and out of Bellas Shine (by First To Shine). Bred by Javier Rosique, he was consigned to the Selecta de Añales Auction in 2017 (Lot 464), where he was sold for $110,000 pesos (approximately $6,162 US) to Cuadra San Diego del Espejo, for which he currently runs.
This was Espejo Misionero’s second victory from four outs and his first classic victory,
for which he added $158,220 pesos (approx. $7,806 US), also adding points to the record of trainer Juan Miguel Cruz Galván.
The filly One Cash (Bullish One-Platinum Cash) finished in second place directed by José Ángel Ambrosio Medina. One Cash is owned by Cuadra Ezpuela de Oro and was saddled by trainer Víctor Jarillo Sánchez.
Third place was a tie between NC Lucky (Native Cartel-Lucky Rose TB) and the filly Saggara Dancer (Sambaso Dancer-Saggara). NC Lucky was well assisted by rider Martín Hernández Basutista for owner Rancho San Pedro PZH and trainer José Ravel Baltazar. Saggara Dancer had Yair Daniel Báez Soto at the helm for Rancho Zacapa and trainer Asdruval Sagid Drake Hurtado.
The other participants concluded as fol- lows: Cherokee Pen (Boondock Saint–Natalia First), N Ivory Duck (Native Cartel–The Ivory Duck), GS Special (Taint Your Wagon–Times Special) and Dancer Eyesa Ze (Ze Dancer– Isabela Eyesa).

De los 10 ejemplares inscritos fueron retiradas las potrancas Special Annie First y SE Mountain Fix. Los ocho participantes acciona- ron con tal rapidez, que en la partida Dancer Eyesa Ze (3) derivó hacia afuera y golpeó a GS Special (4), incidente que estuvo a poco de afec- tar a Espejo Misionero (6), que salió dispuesto a dar la batalla por el centro de la pista, bajo
el mando de Eddi Cuéllar, quien lo exigió al máximo hasta ponerlo al frente del grupo en las yardas finales, logrando dominar a sus rivales por 1⁄2 largo de ventaja sobre la tordilla One Cash (1). Agotó el recorrido en 16.61 segundos, para un SI de 86.
En tercer lugar finalizó Dancer Eyesa Ze (3) pero fue descalificado por los jueces al último lugar, igual acción fue ejercida sobre Saggara Dancer (7) por su infracción sobre NC Lucky (9) al final del recorrido, desplazándola al cuarto lugar.
Espejo Misionero es un castrado hijo de Crimson Corona en la yegua Bellas Shine (por First To Shine). Criado por Javier Rosique,
fue consignado a la Subasta Selecta de Añales
2017 (Lote 464), donde se cotizó en $110,000 pesos ($6,162 US aproximada- mente), manteniéndolo en propiedad la Cuadra San Diego del Espejo, para la que corre actualmente.
En cuatro actuaciones esta fue su segunda victoria y primer clásico que lleva a su récord, por el que agregó $158,220 pesos ($7,806 US aproximadamente), sumando puntos al récord del entrenador Juan Miguel Cruz Galván.
La potranca One Cash (Bullish One – Platinum Cash) concluyó en segundo lugar, dirigida por José Ángel Ambrosio Medina. Es propiedad de la Cuadra Ezpuela de Oro y fue ensillada por el entrenador Víctor Jarillo Sánchez.
La siguiente posición en la meta fue un empate entre NC Lucky (Native Cartel –
Lucky Rose TB) y la potranca Saggara Dancer (Sambaso Dancer – Saggara). El primero
bien asistido por su jinete Martín Hernández Basutista, es propiedad del Rancho San Pedro PZH, y su entrenador es José Ravel Baltazar. La segunda llevó en los controles a Yair Daniel Báez Soto, quien agregó méritos al Rancho Zacapa y al entrenador Asdruval Sagid Drake Hurtado.
