The Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Triple Crown Races have become an important venue to showcase the racing abilities of these two breeds through three important Grade 1 races. This 2018 series consisted of the Speedhorse Graham Paint & Appaloosa Futurity-G1 at Remington Park, the Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Futurity-G1 at Fair Meadows Tulsa and the Speedhorse Lone Star Paint & Appaloosa Futurity-G1 at Lone Star Park. The Speedhorse Paint and Appaloosa Triple Crown Championship is the highest honor attainable in this series. This title is conferred on the horse that can win all three of these prestigious races.
When no horse wins all three of the races, the horse that scores the most points through participation and meeting the criteria set
up in the series is named the Triple Crown Hi-Point Champion. This year, Admiral
Tom took home the title of the Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Triple Crown Hi-Point Champion. He earned his title with a
second in the Speedhorse Graham Paint
& Appaloosa Futurity-G1, a second in the Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Futurity-G1 and a fourth in the Speedhorse Lone Star Paint & Appaloosa Futurity-G1.
Admiral Tom, an Appaloosa, is owned and bred by Gary Vaughan of Coalgate, Oklahoma. The gelding is by the $2 million sire Red Storm Cat QH by Mr Jess Perry and out of Tiny Dash Of Cash by Dash For Cash. The dam of Admiral Tom is Eyesa Knockout, an Appaloosa mare by Mr Eye Opener QH by Dash For Cash. Her dam
is the Appaloosa mare Wego For Cash by Rocket Wrangler QH.
Vaughan recently described Admiral Tom. “He is a tough horse. I had two wins on him this year, but he was there every time. He has a lot of heart and comes out of the gate hard, he is just a good, good solid horse. He’s a runner.”
The overall race record of Admiral Tom reinforces this description and the kind of consistency it takes to be the high point
