Hawthorne Horses are any eligible 3 yr. old quarter horse that was born due to its Dam being artificially inseminated @ Hawthorne Animal Hospital or were born as a result of being sired by a stallion that stood @ Hawthorne Animal Hospital. The sponsor, track operator, and the State have the right to cancel this stakes prior to the actual running thereof without liability to the race sponsor, except for the return of nomination and entrance fees, paid to the owners of the eligible horses at the time of cancellation, and to the carriers at the time of forfeit on horses which have been kept eligible, less 15%.
