Tulsa Fair Meadows and the 2015 Speedhorse Lone Star Paint & Appaloosa Futurity-G1, and was third in the 2015 Speedhorse Graham Paint & Appaloosa Futurity-G1.
Elaina Go Go, the dam of CRM Livewire, earned $24,287 and she made the finals of
the 2006 Lone Star Park Paint & Appaloosa Futurity-G1. She is the dam of five foals with four starters/ROM including two stakes winners and one stakes placed. Her stakes winners
are CRM Livewire and CRM Radio Flyer, winner of the 2014 Pot O’ Gold Futurity-G1. Her stakes placed runner is MHM Hotwire, a full brother to CRM Livewire. 2016 APHA Champion 3-Year-Old Colt MHM Hotwire, also finished third in that year’s Lorelei Derby.
Elaina Go Go is by Texas Hero, who is
by Raise A Jet and out of Breakaway Baby by Dash For Cash. Elaina Go Go is out of Elaina Sweetness, a daughter of On A High by Dash For Cash. This gives CRM Livewire a breeding pattern of 5 X 4 X 4 X 4 to Dash For Cash.
Elaina Sweetness had only two starts with one third place finish. She is the dam of four APHA starters with two ROM, including Suzys Hero by Texas Hero, a winner of $57,092. Suzys Hero was second in the Sequoyah Stakes.
The dam of Elaina Sweetness, Elaina Rae by Zevi TB, is a most interesting racehorse. Elaina Rae won $380,133, but never won
a stakes race. She was second in the All American Futurity-G1 and Heritage Place Futurity-RG1. Her produce record shows that she is the dam of eight ROM with two stakes placed runners. They are Jessie Rae, who was second in the AQRA Turf Paradise Derby-G3; and First To Elaina who was second in the QHBC Sunbelt Juvenile Handicap. The dam of Elaina Rae is race winner Desirae by Mighty Deck by Top Deck. The dam of Desirae is Wading Rader TB by Indian Hill and Wading Rader is out of Miss Sungress by Nail.
The first foal crop of CRM Livewire went to the track in 2017 with a big splash. He has had 12 starters with three stakes winners. The stakes winners, besides Hotwiredotcom, are Fishin Paint, winner of the Tulsa State Fair Paint & Appaloosa Stakes, and Bully Pulpit, winner of the Speedhorse Graham Paint & Appaloosa Futurity-G1 and PSBA American Classic Futurity-G1. The foals of CRM Livewire have made their sire the 2017 leading sire of APHA money earners. They have earned a total of $410,030.

The Wheelers have been participating for many years in the Speedhorse Paint
& Appaloosa Triple Crown series. When
I asked why he chose the Speedhorse program, Jim responded, “For Paints, it’s the top program and has been since Mr. Graham started the Graham Futurity.
Way back then I ran in the Quarter Horse futurity when they had the Graham Futurity in Texas with Flying Arky running third before I sold him, and they went
to Ruidoso to win the Kansas Futurity with him. If you can win the Speedhorse Graham, you have made your year.”
The Wheelers “made” 2017 with Hotwiredotcom being named the Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Triple Crown Hi-Point Champion. Not bad for the “ugly duckling that laid the golden egg.”
When Shirley and Jim Wheeler sold Hotwiredotcom after the Speedhorse Lone
Star Paint & Appaloosa Futurity-G1, they were sending him out into the world for his new owners. Hotwiredotcom was purchased
at the recent Heritage Place Fall Mixed Sale by Samuel and Elizabeth Mendoza. When we did our interview for this article profiling the Speedhorse Triple Crown Hi-Point Champion, the Wheelers were anticipating his return to Remington Park for his shot at the Speedhorse Graham Paint & Appaloosa Derby. Then, sad news arrived that Hotwiredotcom had died from complications of colic. We extend our sincere sympathy to the new owners, Samuel and Elizabeth Mendoza, and of course to Jim and Shirley Wheeler in the loss of this very special horse. Hotwiredotcom will be missed by all of us.

“When Hotwiredotcom was a baby, he ran all the time. Every time you would look out in the pasture with the other colts, he would be the one running. . . He acted like he really liked it.”
The 2017 Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Triple Crown Hi-Point Champion Hotwiredotcom, also won the Oklahoma Paint & Appaloosa Futurity-G1.
