The broodmare sire record for Kiptys Charger shows that his daughters produced 282 ROM and 24 stakes winners that earned over $7.2 million. His leading money earner on this end is Heza Ramblin Man ($750,907) with
nine stakes wins, including the Los Alamitos Invitational Championship-G1. Kiptys Charger is the broodmare sire of four Champions, including Willie Wanta Dash as well as 2006 Champion 3-Year-Old Filly Ima Ramblin Girl, 2008 Champion Aged Mare Miss Kips Streakin, and 1996 Champion 2-Year-Old Gelding Uncas.
A look at Kiptys Charger begins with
his sire, unraced Thoroughbred Kiptydoo by Anyoldtime by Eight Thirty. The dam
of Kiptydoo is Irish Kip by Royal Charger. Kiptydoo is a million dollar sire with earners of over $1.9 million, 161 ROM and 11 stakes winners, including The Bulldogger ($194,972) and Kipty’s Drum ($134,990).
Kiptydoo is the broodmare sire of 251 racing ROM with 13 stakes winners. His maternal grandget include 1986 World Champion
Gold Coast Express ($682,053), also the 1986 Champion 3 Year Old, Champion 3-Year-Old Gelding, and 1987 Champion Aged Horse and Champion Aged Gelding.
Kitacharge, the dam of Kiptys Charger, is a stakes placed mare with a second in
the Valentine Derby. She earned $6,730. Her foals also include Kita Pass, winner of the Pomona Futurity and the Kaweah Bar Handicap, and Hiedens Charger, winner of the Texas QHA Derby.
The pedigree of Kitacharge is an interesting one. She is by Deep Fathom by Depth Charge and out of Miss Dream Girl by Joe Reed II. The dam of Kitacharge is Sunkita by Deep Sun by Depth Charge. Sunkita is out of Wakita by Leo by Joe Reed II. Depth Charge and Joe Reed II are important contributors to the mare influence in Quarter Horse racing through the female side of the pedigree and Kitacharge is double bred to this cross.
The dam of Liquid Charge is Liquid Amber, an ROM race mare with four wins, two seconds and six thirds place finishes in 26 starts and earnings of $10,255. She is the dam of four foals/ROM including stakes finalist Accomodations, who was sixth in the 1986 Governor’s Cup Futurity-RG3.
Liquid Amber is by Wheres Goldie TB and out of Oro Vente by Direct Win TB. The dam of Oro Vente is Gold Midnight by Chudej’s Black Gold by Depth Charge TB. This gives Liquid Charge a breeding pattern of 4 X 5 X 5 to Depth Charge. The dam of Gold Midnight is Dark Midnight by Roan Midnight, and she is out of a “Thoroughbred” mare named Tough Weather.
Jim goes on to tell us why he bred to CRM Livewire. “I ran against CRM Livewire with Flashthechicks,” he says. “Flashthechicks
was a 2-time World’s Champion the year
we were three year olds and CRM Livewire outran me twice. I thought, ‘I’ve got a World Champion here and he outran me twice, so
I am going to breed to him.’ That and the people who own him are real nice people and I really like them.”
CRM Livewire, owned and bred by Dan and Kaye Jones, spent three years on the track and he was named Champion each year. At two, he was the APHA Champion Running
2 Year Old and the Champion Running 2-Year-Old Colt. He won two starts with one second and two thirds. His second came in the GCFA Paint and Appaloosa Futurity, and he was third in the Lone Star Park Paint and Appaloosa Futurity-G1. He earned $17,391 and was the APHA #1 Honor Roll Stallion.
CRM Livewire had an even bigger year as
a three year old. He made 11 starts with five wins, including three stakes wins. He had three seconds with two of those in stakes races. He earned $72,799 for the year. His stakes wins came in the Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Derby-G1, the APHA Masterpiece Challenge and the Talimena Handicap. His stakes seconds came in the Lewis Wartchow Memorial Stakes-G1 and the Lorelei Derby-G2. He was named the APHA World Champion Running Paint Horse, Champion Running 3 Year Old and Champion Running 3-Year-Old Colt. He was the APHA #1 Honor Roll Stallion.
CRM Livewire’s race record at four shows that he made four starts with one win (a stakes race) and one second, earning $10,518 for
the year. He was named the APHA World Champion Running Horse, Champion Running Aged Stallion and Champion Running Aged Horse. His stakes win came
in the Green County Handicap. He was the APHA #1 Honor Roll Stallion. This gave him a total of 22 starts with eight wins, five seconds and two thirds, earning $100,708 in his career.
Cartel Success, the Quarter Horse sire of CRM Livewire, is the winner of the 2006 Blue Ribbon Futurity-G2 while winning three of his seven starts at two. He went on at three to win two of his nine starts with four seconds and one third. His three-year- old campaign included second place finishes in the Oklahoma Bred Derby and the Don Steele Memorial Stakes with a third in the Land Run Stakes. This gives him 16 starts with five wins, five seconds and one third, earning a total of $181,497 in his career.
The sire of Cartel Success is Corona Cartel, who earned $577,142 on the track including wins in the Los Alamitos Million Futurity-G1 and Kindergarten Futurity-G2. He is now the all-time leading living sire of money with earners of over $56 million. His runners include Blues Girl Too, the 2007
AQHA Racing World Champion and winner of the 2007 Champion of Champions-G1. His current crop of runners includes 2017 Los Alamitos Super Derby-G1 winner Chazaq.

Dashing Mariah is the dam of Cartel Success. This mare is a 2-time winner with earnings of $22,807. She was a finalist in
the 1993 Heritage Place Derby-G1 and
