he speedy Jess A Livewire notched the first stakes
win of her career with a front-running score in the $20,000 Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Juvenile at Fair Meadows on July 22.
With jockey Roman Cruz in the irons, Jess A Livewire broke running and grabbed the lead early in the 350-yard test. She opened a 1/2-length advantage on her rivals in the lane and hit the finish line 3/4-lengths in front of runner-up WF Wirememoney with Red Red Wire finishing third, giving the sire CRM Livewire a sweep of the top three placings. Sent off as the odds-on favorite, Jess A Livewire covered the distance in :17.824, earning a speed index of 94.
A homebred for H.T. Churchwell and Michael Hester, Jess A Livewire is now a winner in two of
six starts and has placed in three others for trainer Clinton Crawford. The $8,492 winner’s share of
the purse increased her earnings total to $28,783. The filly broke her maiden at Remington Park and finished second in the Victoria Ennis Memorial. Bred in Oklahoma, Jess A Livewire is out of the Apollitical Jess Quarter Horse mare Jess A Snowy Cartel.
Jockey Rolando Raudales guided WF Wirememoney (CRM Livewire-Tax Time Judy) to a second-place finish for owner Painted Faith Racing and trainer Dee Keener. The sorrel gelding was bred in Oklahoma by Steven Wright. Red Red Wire (CRM Livewire-PRP Sedona Sunset) finished third under jockey Erik Esqueda. The sorrel gelding, a homebred for Dan and Kaye Jones, is still in search of his initial win for trainer Matt Whitekiller.
Southern Swagger (CRM Livewire-Ze Southern Girl), Ivory Turnpike One (Ivory James-High Class Turnpike), EL Flying Cowgirl (Flying Cowboy 123-Imakickenchicken), and PFR Stefanies Cliff (The Fiscal Cliff-PHQ Princes Stef) completed
the order of finish. JS Quick Chill, Whole Lotta Turnpike, and Wire Tap were scratched.

he accomplishments keep building up for Trixs Are
For Kids. Making her third career start, the three- year-old filly remained undefeated, entered black type, and pushed her total earnings closer to six figures with her triumph in the $138,600 Jaguar Rocket Futurity, which was held July 22 at Horseshoe Indianapolis.
Trained by Tim Eggleston, Trixs Are For Kids surpassed her performance in the trials, covering the same 300 yards in :15.418 for a 99 speed index. Rolando Pina was aboard as the filly broke on top from the 4-gate, led by a neck going into the stretch, then separated herself in the final yards to win by 1/2 length. It marked the first-ever stakes victory for owner Brian Langworthy.
Trixs Are For Kids career bankroll swelled to $95,150 with the $77,000 payday from this event. The filly’s perfect 3-0 start included a win in the Jaguar Rocket trials, which saw a time of :15.808 to place her third on the qualifying ladder.
Jane Owens bred Trixs Are For Kids and owns her dam, Cartels Royal Candy, a 2014 mare. The filly is one of the last foals raised by Owens and her husband, stakes-winning trainer John McCreary.
Anthony Cunningham trains the other two competitors that finished in the money. Eagle Flybye (Moonin The Eagle-Bye Bye Corona), the runner-up, ridden by Luz Martinez, is owned by Lisa Cunningham and Pamela Brickley Hann. Hann also co-owns the third-place finisher, HH Express 19 (Freighttrain B-Shakem Jake), who is also owned by John Myers and Larry Carter and ridden by Francisco Quintero.
The remaining order of finish was Sweeet Caroline (Jess Good Candy-Miss Scarlet), Priddy Fabulous (One Fabulous Eagle-My Girls Rock),
AP Tempting Sicaria (BP Wagon Train-U No Im Tempted), AE Just Dale (Cartels Feature-Blur of Furr), Big Lewella (Big Lew-Chics Gotta Have Fun), and Eyesa Dashin Josie (Dash Master Jess-BV Eyesazoom). Ucankissjudysboode scratched.

achas Secret, the 3-2 favorite in a full field of
10 state-bred sophomores, scored a 2-length victory in the 400-yard Blue River Derby at Horseshoe Indianapolis on July 22.
Trained by Ricardo Martinez for owner Duke Racing LLC, Tachas Secret stopped the timer in :19.739. Fernando Morin rode the sorrel daughter of the No Secrets Here stallion Habits Secret.
Tachas Secret was bred by Ricardo Martinez, and she was the third-fastest qualifier from four trials run on July 3. Martinez raced both Habits Secret and Tachas Secret’s dam, the winning PYC Paint Your Wagon mare Sin Tachas Angel. Sin Tachas Angel produced two winners from three starters. Tachas Secret is her first stakes winner.
Tachas Secret has won five of nine starts,
and the $73,205 winner’s share of the $133,100 purse from her second stakes victory increased her earnings to $142,785.
Stakes finalist CV Struttinforakiss (Kiss My Hocks-Struttin For Money) pocketed the $26,620 runner-up share of the purse for his owner Campos Family Ventures LLC. Edgar Diaz rode the sorrel colt for trainer Claudio Barraza. He has won or placed in six of his nine starts.
The fastest qualifier, Seize Greatness (Seize The Win-Crossing The Brazos) finished third. Shanley Jackson rode the homebred gelding for owner Glenn L. Graff, and trainer Matt Frazier. He was a finalist in the Harley Greene Derby earlier this year.
Sundays Best (Jess Zoomin-Sum Fun For Magic), AJK Forgiven (Mo Zoomo-Loving On The Run), Streakindownthebeach (Habits Secret-Beach Runner), Jess Sir E Bob (Jess Zoomin-Billie Bob), Dashtraxx (Valiant Hero-Famous Dash To Me), RB EC Mystery Zoom (Mo Zoomo-A Royal Mystery), and Pandemic Beach (Escondido Beach-Brimms Fairy Tale) completed the order of finish.
