Some others that follow this pattern are Hell’s To Betsy, winner of the 1969 Oklahoma Futurity and giving Jet
Deck three consecutive winners of this Futurity. Sounds familiar to Leo and his early domination of this great race. This mare was out of Figure 8 Bars by Sugar Bars. Figure 8 Bars was out of Figure 8 Missbearcat, a daughter of Leo. Hell’s
To Betsy is a full sister to Jet Space, who won the 1971 Oklahoma Derby and
the LaMesa Park Kansas Derby - both
run at 400 yards. Jet Injun was a full brother to Jet Again, they were out of
the Warren broodmare Oncita Leo. Jet Injun won seven stakes with five at 400 and 440 yards including the Lubbock Downs Spring Derby, Acadian Classic Handicap, and three of Evangeline Downs Championships with two at 400 and
one at 440 yards. Jet Injun was the 1971 Champion Aged Stallion.
The horse that best sums up the effect Jet Deck had on the Warren breeding program was Jet Charger by Jet Deck and out of Rosa Leo by Leo. Warren said this about Jet Charger, “He is one of the greatest conformation horses, one of the greatest running horses that I ever had.
I wish I could raise another one as good
a lookin and as good a runner as he was. He would be a great foundation sire for anybody, if you could raise one like him. He had everything front and behind and in between.” Jet Charger had 32 starts with 14 wins and he made the finals of 20 stakes races with five wins, three seconds
