Castle Pines North residents will soon have a new option for dry cleaning, one that features“green”tech- niques. In the near future, Green Earth Dry Cleaners will open its doors in a new building adjacent to the Safeway shopping center.
“Most dry cleaners use petroleum-based cleaning agents,” said Green Earth owner, Chuck Barry. “If
a spill should occur, our cleaning agent breaks down into water, carbon dioxide and sand within eight to ten days.”
Green Earth is a new company, with just a few other locations in Orlando, Kansas City and Chicago. Barry, a longtime Denver resident, moved to CPN a year ago to oversee construction of the new building and to make the new dry cleaning business a reality.
“This has really been a labor of love,” said Barry. “We’re so happy to be a part of the Castle Pines com- munity and we love the neighborhood feeling here in CPN.”
The cleaner will feature customer convenience fea- tures like a drive-through, and a 24-hour locker system that will allow customers to pick up their clothes after hours.

Arlen’s American Bistro
The fate of the land at the northwest corner of Castle Pines Parkway and Monarch Boulevard – land known as “CC-20” – has been a subject of debate in Castle Pines North (CPN) for several years. Now, on the eve of the election, an important chapter in CPN history is about to be decided.
“We think that CC-20 is the perfect site for the Castle Pines Library, and we’re issuing a formal statement of support of the library,” said David Verebely, President of the Castle Pines Economic Development Council.
A measure to provide additional funding for the library failed on the last ballot, leaving the planned shopping center without a strong anchor. Following the last election, landowner Village Homes agreed to wait for anotherelectionbeforemakinganychangesinitsplans for the site.
It is unknown what types of businesses will be housed at CC-20, although other library locations in Douglas County do allow the sale and consumption of coffee and other beverages, so it is possible that a coffee ven- dor may find a home in CC-20.
Bill Jenkins, the real estate broker who represents the Laramie Company on the project, said that plans include a bank, a restaurant, a day care center, a nail salon and business executive space. “For now, though, we don’t have anything confirmed for CC-20,” said Jenkins.
The possibility for a fire station at CC-20 was proposed and the Parker-South Metro Fire Rescue Authority signed a letter of intent, which stated that South Metro was considering the location. As of press time, the letter had expired.

Arlen’s American Bistro – the newest restaurant in Castle Pines North (CPN) - is open and ready to impress. Owners Arlen and Amy Felsen have cre- ated a simple and delicious menu, along with a warm atmosphere they hope will bring guests back again and again. Arlen’s serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. All menu items are either 100 percent natural or Colorado grown.
Menu items include omelettes and pancakes for break- fast and salads, sandwiches and burgers for lunch. For dinner,tableclothsareadded,anextensiveandeclectic wine selection is displayed and fresh fish, steak, and pasta are added to the food line-up. Coming soon are an outdoor patio and evening jazz.
