Buffalo Ridge to Host
Reading Safari Book
Fair October 3-9 by Elean Gersack
Calling all book lovers! Buffalo Ridge Elementary School (BRE) is hosting a Reading Safari Book Fair from October 3 through October 9. Books for children and adults of all ages will fill the gym- nasium and provide a great local venue for book buying. On Monday, October 6, from 6 p.m. to
8 p.m., The Denver Zoo will be on hand with safari animals and artifacts for hands on learning. Proceeds from the book fair will directly support BRE teacher wish lists.
Protect Sprinklers and Support Local Boy Scouts
Castle Pines North Boy Scout Troop #316 and Troop #637 will hold their annual sprinkler blow-out fundraisers in October. Prices and dates for the service vary; contact troops for more information.
Scouts will be fully supervised by adults. All proceeds support troop activities.

Register Now for Rock Slide - Race Day Set for November 8

It is time to register for the 2008 Rock Slide! The race is planned for Saturday, November 8, at 9 a.m. at Rock Canyon High School. This one-mile fun run and 5K race provide a perfect opportunity to inspire children with the love of physical fitness.
Proceeds from the event will support local schools, including Buffalo Ridge Elementary, Timber Trail Elementary, DCS Montessori, American Academy Charter School, Rocky Heights Middle School and Rock Canyon High School.

Faith Lutheran Preschool to Host Fall Festival
Faith Luthern Preschool is hosting their 2008
Fall Festival on Saturday, October 11 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The festival will feature a bungee trampoline, giant inflatable slide, bounce castle, an obstaclecourse,trainrides,adunkingbooth,games and crafts. A magic show will begin at noon and the fire truck will visit at 1 p.m. Tickets for games and rides are available for purchase at the festival. The event will be held at Faith Lutheran Church, 303 Ridge Road in Castle Rock.
CBS News 4’s “Fit 4 Colorado Walk” Coming to CPN October 4

On October 4, the City of Castle Pines North will host “Fit 4 Colorado,” a local community walk sponsored by CBS News 4. The walk will take place in the CPN community and residents of all ages are invited to participate.

CPN Master Association to Host Annual Meeting
The Castle Pines North Master Association
will host its annual Board meeting on Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at the Community Center, 7404 Yorkshire Drive. This annual meeting is open to all residents.
All delegate representatives from each of the neighborhood HOAs are expected to be in attendance. Delegates will be casting their votes to elect two Master Association Board members. Any owner of a residence within Castle Pines North is eligible to be elected to the Master Board.

Castle Rock Star Lighting Set for November 22
The Town of Castle Rock will kick off the holiday season on Saturday, November 22 by lighting the star in historic downtown. Come enjoy festivities and special events leading up to the star lighting, which is scheduled from 5:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the old courthouse building on Wilcox Street in downtown Castle Rock.
During the hours of 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., there will be a host of activities including carriage rides, music, children’s entertainment, trolley rides and a live nativity scene. Santa Claus will visit the County building from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and the Perry Street firehouse from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The fire- house will host a chili cook-off until 7 p.m.
Wilcox square is located in the heart of Castle Rock. Limited parking will be available behind the County building (on Wilcox between 3rd and 4th) and street parking will be available throughout town. For more information, visit www.castlerock. org, or call 303-688-4597.

The annual Old Fashioned Holiday Christmas Boutique will be held Thursday through Saturday, November 20, 21 and 22, at the Castle Pines North (CPN) Community Center.
Theupscaleboutiqueeventcelebratesthirteenyears and is a local holiday favorite for CPN residents. Crafters from years past, as well as new crafters, will be on hand with ornaments and decorations for the holidays in addition to floral arrangements, jewelry, gourmet food and more.
