With blankets and folding chairs ready, new and returning Timber Trail Elementary (TTE) families gathered for TTE’s rst family outdoor movie night Friday, August 17. The Timber Trail Education Alliance (TTEA) hosted this free event to thank
and give back to the families of TTE who volunteer so much of their time in the classrooms and for eld trips, book fair and yearly fund raisers. The event also served to welcome new TTE families to the “wolf pack.”
Popcorn, candy, Kona Ice and games welcomed guests to the outdoor venue set up in the TTE eld. TTEA purchased the popcorn for event guests to enjoy at no additional cost. Fun and games included football, lawn darts, spike ball games, hula hoops, bouncy balls and, of course, the playground.
Kona Ice donated a percentage of its
sales to the school, and Dan Colella with Outdoor Movie Entertainment supplied the movie set and Disney’s original animated movie “The Jungle Book.” While guests claimed their spots and the kids ran and played, Colella DJ’ed the latest music hits for some pre-movie entertainment. Jennie Cartwright with Frosch Travel engaged guests with Disney trivia and prizes to tie into the Disney theme. Cartwright also supplied information to help families plan Disney getaways.
Jennie Cartwright hosted Disney trivia for the event.
This rst outdoor movie night is just one of many events the school has planned for TTE families, students and faculty. Be ready for more fun throughout the 2018-19 school year!
Amanda and Mark Quam, Paige Sanford and TTE fourth-grader Weston Nielson made sure to get their popcorn before the movie began at dusk.
