When to Keep Your Child at Home

For the health and well-being of your child and others, if a child develops any of the
following contagious symptoms, they must be kept home until symptom free for 24 hours
or until the child’s physician indicates the child can return to the school:
• Uncontrolled diarrhea
• Severe Coughing
• Difficult or rapid breathing
• Yellow skin or eyes
• Tears, redness of eyelids with discharge
• A fever of 100 degrees or above
• Unusual spots or rashes
• Sore throat or trouble swallowing
• Infected skin patches
• Severe itching of body or scalp
• Vomiting
• Infestation or parasite (ex. Head lice, scabies, pin worms)
• Any other contagious or communicable disease
In certain cases, it may become necessary to require a physician’s written release stating
the child is no longer contagious.
