“ Christoffel Park is a diverse and unspoilt area of natural beauty. You can
hike up a trail right up the slopes of Christoffelberg. It’s a steep climb, best
done early in the morning. There are gorgeous views from the summit.
You can also go by car to all the scenic lookouts around the park.
On the north side, you’ll find rough seas and Boka Grandi’s Arawak cave
paintings. It really is nature at its best.
My favorite wildlife in Christoffel Park has to be the deer, which we call
‘bina’. It’s truly special when you can look into their big, beautiful al-
mond-shaped eyes. They don’t live in groups, so they can be hard to spot.
Sometimes they flee, but other times they’ll pause and look you right in the
eye… When I have a chance, I take my family camping for the night on the
rugged seaward side of the park. Hearing the sea thunder in over the reef
really recharges the batteries. ”

“ Plan to spend a whole day in Banda Bou. Start at Christoffel Park
and Shete Boka, the coves on the wild north coast where the sea
pounds the shore. From there, you can make your way along
beautiful beaches, all the way back to Willemstad. Be your own
guide or book a safari tour.
