PARATHYROID GLANDS
• The parathyroid glands serve as calcium regulators for the body.
• The parathyroid glands control the release and absorption of calcium by producing parathyroid hormone (PTH).
• Decreased levels of serum calcium levels are indicative of hypocalcemia, while elevated levels of serum calcium levels are indicative of hypercalcemia.
