  PATHOLOGY OF THE SPLEEN MALIGNANT DISEASES
• The differentiation between these two types of lymphoma is performed microscopically.
• ThepresenceofReed-SternbergcellsindicateHodgkin lymphoma. It can be treated and has carries a high recovery rate.
• Non-Hodgkin lymphoma is not as easily managed but is more common.
• Metastatic disease is rare to the spleen and occurs late in the disease process. The most common primary locations are the breast, lung, skin (melanoma), and ovary.
