God Rest Ye, Merry Gentlemen

God rest you merry, gentlemen,
let nothing you dismay!
for Jesus Christ our saviour

was born on Christmas Day,
to save us all from Satan's power
when we had gone astray:

O tidings of comfort and joy,

The 9th Day At Bethlehem in Judahthe holy babe was born;

they laid him in a manger
of Christmas on this most happy morn,
at which his mother Mary
did neither fear nor scorn: [Refrain]

From God our heavenly Fathera holy angel cam e;
the shepherds saw the glory
January 2 and heard the voice proclaim

that Christ was born in Bethlehem
and Jesus is his name: [Refrain]

Now to the Lord sing praises,
All you within this place,
And true Love and charity

This holy tide of Christmas
