Lions Stay Busy Delivering Durable Medical
Equipment to Local Residents
The Ridgely and Greensboro Lions Clubs operate a Durable
Medical Equipment Loan Closet in our local community.
We do this by re-purposing good used medical equipment to
people in need on Maryland’s Mid-shore area (QA, Talbot,
Dorchester and Caroline Counties). Referrals come from
local healthcare and social service providers as well as family
caregivers and even other Lions Club members. We recently
assisted several families in the community who needed some
help.
The Stevens family in Cambridge needed some assistance
before their son Luke went into Children’s National Hospital
on September 8 for a major surgical procedure. We were able
to purchase the family a special three-point sling that doubles 13699 Greensboro Rd., Breensboro, MD 21639
for carrying and transporting Luke. After his surgery Luke was 410-482-6897 greaterimpactmd.com
transferred to a children’s rehabilitation center for physical
and occupational therapy. He is now home and doing better
every day. Luke is doing so well that on October 11 he had
his TV debut with Dad on WRDE Coast TV in Milton, DE.
If you’d like to see the video and support Luke during his
recovery, follow Luke and the Stevens family on Facebook.

Assistance to people in need doesn’t always entail providing
or picking up a piece of durable medical equipment. We
received a call from Rita, a retired
nurse in Denton who needed help
moving her sister’s heavy duty fully FUND
electric hospital bed from Denton to
Hillsboro. Moving the bed required the RAISER
assistance from one of Rita’s friends,
Lion Jeff and his dad Francis to give $10 suggested donation
Lion Dave a hand with the transfer.
