Unacceptable Proofs of Eligibility
Food Assistance/SNAP Card:
Missouri SNAP cards do not have the cardholder’s name printed, therefore, they are not accepted. Food
Stamps letters are accepted, as long as they have an issue date within the last 12 months or a future
expiration date. The customer’s name, address and benefits type must also be visible on the letter.
Medicare Card:
Supplemental Security Income (SSI) Program:
The following are NOT acceptable as proof of participation in the SSI Program:
o Any document that shows the applicant is receiving Social Security benefits but
not SSI benefits. SSI benefits are administered through the Social Security
Administration but should specifically state that the applicant is enrolled in and
currently receiving benefits through the SSI program.
o Any document showing that the customer has applied for SSI benefits and that
the application has been accepted but not showing that the benefits have been
approved or eligibility certified.
