   KOLEQ SERIES
KOLEQ series is my interpretation of my life in MCKK from 1982-1986. Each digital painting summarizes the ups and downs that had colored my life during that particular year. And as I always see the school like looking at a map, the visual representation in the series is also map-like. For instance, Koleq #2 signifies 1983, when I was in Form 2. The painting shows the relationship and the movement of the students from New Hostel, which was located at the North Eastern side of the campus, to the class which was at the bottom South West. However, Koleq #1 does not have this map- like interpretation because throughout the whole year, 1982, my life was only at the Prep School and class, and being protected by the Prep School prefects.
KOLEQ series tells the story of the significant events during the five years. KOLEQ #1 tells the story of the seclusion being a first former at Prep School. KOLEQ #2 reminisces of the far flung location of New Hostel. However, at that time, New Hostel had the most pleasant greeneries around. Olympics became the main event of 1983, KOLEQ #3 (the specter of SRP was there.. lurking behind). I stayed at New Hostel for the second year, thus the location of the number 3 is the same as the number 2 of KOLEQ #2. As for the colors, I was a fan of the US team at that time. Nothing much happened when I was in Form 4. However, the location of my Dorm 4 at the East Wing was special. The Big Tree was there. One can see the stylized leaves of the Big Tree and the brown color relates to the tree trunk in KOLEQ #4. The brightest of the series is KOLEQ #5. Form 5 in 1986 was my best year. Very interesting and dynamic. One can see that the number 5 relates to my cube at Dorm 22 (Club Med), West Wing. And red and orange symbolized my passion and mania for koleq life.
KOLEQ SERIES was totally designed and done using Adobe Illustrator and printed on 1m x 1m archived quality canvas in a limited number. A set of them graces the lobby of MCKK Auditorium Tun Abdul Razak (Auditar).
