Andy Snow, Photographer
all of the modern photographs were captured by andy snow.
Andy Snow studied photography, both in practice and as art, while nishing a philosophy degree at Princeton University in 1972. His master’s programs at Ohio University and Antioch University embraced lm, video and digital media. In 1993, he chronicled his work for TIME, BusinessWeek, Forbes and Fortune magazines and in his book, Location Photography Secrets. Andy is a working photographer with a wide range of imagery from around the nation and the world.
Unknown Photographers
Many of the photographers of the 1913 ood, whose work is featured in this book, are typically unknown. They were amateurs, photojournalists and sometimes professional photographers imprisoned in their own second- oor studios in the region’s downtowns. While waiting anxiously at their windows, they photographed the devastation their lenses could capture. Perhaps they wondered if their work, their equipment and even their lives would survive the tragedy.
After completing all of the book’s photography, the team learned that one of the West Carrollton
1913 photographers was Noah Elwood Weaver. He was an employee of the American Envelope Company and, coincidentally, a cousin of photographer Andy Snow.
Schlegel Creative
Book design, layout and printing were managed by Schlegel Creative. John Yeutter, senior designer, enjoyed the challenge of assembling the photos and text of this book into an interesting and pleasing pattern. Dan Schlegel managed the production and provided creative direction.
