Troy: West Market Street at Grant Street
Left: Floodwater could not escape the neighborhood south of downtown Troy due to a railroad embankment that blocked the ow of water. A team of citizens discovered the problem and decided to destroy the embankment and release the water.
Right: With an addition at the back, the home at the corner of West Market and Grant streets still stands as testament to its sturdy construction. West Market Street is a bustling commercial and residential roadway today and also serves as State Route 55 through the city.
