West Carrollton: Memorial United Methodist Church at North Locust and Main streets
68
Above: The Memorial United Methodist Church was in the heart of West Carrollton at the corner of North Locust Street and Main Street. The church, which was built in the mid-1800s, had long been a part of the West Carrollton community by the time the ood hit in 1913. Floodwater crested at about 4 feet, which ruined the basement oor and rose almost to the bottom of the sanctuary.
Right: The church has undergone renovations and additions since the ood. With each modi cation, church members have worked to maintain the beauty of the original church.
