21.1 Trends and Intensity
Literature Discovery and Regular Searches trends show that both started to increase in May 2020 and peaked in August 2020 before declining gradually in October 2020. Both began to grow again steadily and peaked in January 2021. The activity figures are considerably smaller, and small changes can significantly affect the trend's trajectory (Figure 21.1.a).
Meanwhile, the trends for Sessions and Infometric show they remained relatively steady. They fluctuated around the averages throughout the 18-month duration, even though greater volatility in the infometric Use (Figure 21.1.a).
