The California BBQ Institute, the educational arm of the CBBQA, held its second BBQ 101 class for the season on August 31st. Owners, Liz and Brian Silveira, of Smoked Seduction hosted the class at their BBQ supply store in Livermore. 10 instructors covered 7 sessions (equipment, rub/sauce, appetizers, sides, tri-tip, chicken and ribs) in just 5 hours with a tasty lunch to follow. 32 students were excited to learn from experienced local pit- masters. CBBQA volunteers were just as excited to teach and help. The CBBQA would like to thank our instruc- tors, volunteers, hosts and especially our students for making this class a huge success!
