Hassell Cattle Company "Blue Collar" Wagyu Beef
One simple fact that will never change about any barbecue or grilling protein: you can not dress up poor quality meat regardless of how you season, cook, or sauce it. A good quality product is a must at the start to end up with a qual- ity product.
For the past serval years, the barbecue beef lovers have im- posed a tremendous demand for the Wagyu brand of beef. Barbecue competitions have fueled this trend as now it is the typical breed of beef used in most competitions. Many backyarders who want to try this trendy brand of beef will often change their minds after experiencing sticker shock from some prices this breed carries.
Hassell Cattle Company has developed its very own brand of Texas Wagyu cattle to help combat this situation. Their exclusive "Blue Collar Wagyu" is the highest quality Texas
We requested a sample of their most ordered items and were so impressed with their results we decided to order their Sirloin steaks for our base product during the 2019 Rubs of Honor Beef category. Our samples of hamburger, hot dogs, ribeye, New York Strip, sausage, and Denver steak were all fantastic as we compared them all cooking our usual home recipes so we could make a fair compari- son. We also compared their prices versus the Angus Prime found at some supermarkets and will verify they are very close to those prices as well.
Of all the different products we tested we did not find a hands-down favorite, but the hot dogs and Denver Steak will stick in our minds for a while, as those products qual- ity and price caught us by surprise.
We highly recommend any of their products to anyone looking for a quality beef product to grill or smoke. You can find more about the Hassell Cattle Company "Blue Col- lar Wagyu" beef from their website at www.HassleCattle- Company.com.
Wagyu at prices that the "every man" can afford and enjoy every day. They raise 100% hormone-free and antibiotic- free F1 cross cattle by breeding registered Wagyu bulls with Angus cows that produce a high prime beef that rivals any beef, anywhere.
We first got to sample this "Blue Collar Wagyu" on a visit with our friends Carl "The Cook" Lewis and John Boy from the Big Show in Charlotte, NC, back in September. We dined on several different cuts of steak and jerky that evening. After learning more about the company and their entire product line, we decided to investigate further to see if there was a difference between their Wagyu and Angus prime graded beef. We can tell you that indeed there is a difference in the product but not the price.
