  The NBBQA National Conference
– Line Up of Speakers –
April 1-4 the BBQ family will be converging upon Louisville, KY to the annual NBBQA National Conference
where the legendary Galt House hotel will play host. The BBQ family will be coming from far and wide to take part in this family reunion with all sorts of activities planned. The bus tour, a conference favorite, will be on Wednesday like it has been and will be quite fun. The Rhinestone Cowboy Hat Steak cook o昀 and the NBBQA Classic steak cooko昀 will be held Friday night and Saturday respectively. Saturday is going to be chalk full of things going on including a bourbon pairing.
It’s what is happening between the bus tour and the steak cooko昀s which has everyone excited. Sure, there’ll be all the networking opportunities around the meals we all enjoy and of course the uno昀icial after parties which occur. As the NBBQA continues to promote the business of BBQ to the professional as well as the aspiring professional, the educational tracks re昀ect this. Take a look at the line up and topics!
    Sergeant Major (ret) John McPhee
THE KEYNOTE SPEAKER
Known as “the Sheri昀 of Baghdad” our keynote is in high demand because of who he is and what he has done throughout his 20 years of military service. Sergeant Major (ret) John McPhee AKA “The Sheri昀 of Baghdad” served a distinguished career in U.S. Army Special Operations, retiring in 2011. Better known for his call sign “SHREK”, John created the S.O.B. brand to provide his knowledge to civilians, law-enforcement, and militaries around the world.
John has spent his adult life in Special Operations and Special Mission Units. He has- trained countless U.S. Special Operations forces, thousands of International Tier 1 Operators and Special Forces around the world. He is one of the handful of opera- tors with over a decade of combat having served in multiple theaters from Bosnia and South America to recent war e昀orts in Iraq and Afghanistan.
He is a Master Instructor in all aspects of special activities, missions and operations. With over 10 years of private special activities consulting, John is a Subject Matter Ex- pert (SME) in Special Activities, Operational Preparations, Limited Signature Operations and Reconnaissance just to name a few. Above all of this, he loves BBQ and the NBBQA.
He will bring us stories from his time serving in the military as well as running a successful consulting business giving us examples of overcoming the obstacles which stand in our way. With a successful podcast, he talks about the issues facing people today while giving them the encouragement to push through and conquer their fears of falling short of their goals.
