is the case for northern Georgia. But Rick Hewitt has done this fundraiser four years now, in Duluth, GA on October 16th. This year it will be bigger than ever with a double steak, an appetizer ancillary, and a kids cookoff. Ricky Bobby, as he is affectionately known throughout the cook- ing community, is the consummate host, making everyone feel welcome. His trophies are unique, and the fun is had by everyone. The proceeds go to help the Southeastern Rail- way Museum. For more information feel free to contact Rick.
Hassell Cattle Company Ancillary Points Chase
Once again, the ancillaries are heating up with battles up and down the Top 10. Although Tona Pendray has stretched out her lead over the rest of the field, she isn’t safe. Kyle Matuszewski and Will Collier are putting the hammer down to overtake her, which won’t be an easy task. This late in the season the rest of the field are fighting to be fourth. Currently this spot is held by Rylee Wright with Lori Davis right behind her by only two points. Bobby Oliver sits in fifth with Brandon Crain and Whitney Hampson only 10 points away. Craig Carter and Brian Coleman will not let the rest of the field leave them behind as they continue to gain points every week. As we wind everything down over
the next three months, this is a chase where you don’t want to miss a moment.
ACE Hardware Steak Points Chase
What can we say about the ACE Hardware Points Chase that hasn’t already been said, except, “Buckle up because this is turning into a barn burner!” Sandy Brown is deter- mined to not only become the first to repeat as champion but to do so back-to-back. Terry Roan is doing his best to make sure he holds the title of champion and being the first to be World Champion Steak Cook and Points Cham- pion as he holds down third place. But the fly in the oint- ment is Rusty Hadacek who sits squarely in second place and within striking distance of first. But the rest of the field isn’t out of the chase yet. Tim Brown sits in fourth with Scott Nardi, Ginnie Holmes, Jessica Barnes and Layne Holmes looking to move right there to put pressure on the top three. Will Collier, pulling double duty by being in the Top 10 in both chases and Rod Hadacek rounding out the Top 10, both know it isn’t over until the season is over so they continue to battle. By the time you read this, there will only be about 12 weeks left to make some major moves. You’ll need to keep your eyes peeled for this one.
