the season a bit longer for this year but also in- creases your chances of get- ting the coveted Golden Ticket. Lastly, this move places the SCA World Champi- onships among the first on the list of major cooking compe- titions.
Before the move,
the fall had 4
world champi-
onships within a 10-week period. Now toss in a 5th one because of the pandemic and our cooks, many of whom cook them all, would be exhausted. So, the decision was made to move the world championship to the spring. Next year as things begin to normalize, the champi- onship schedule will be
much more spread out, with the SCA World Championships being among the first for the year. Looking forward to seeing you all in Ft. Worth, Texas March 12- 14, 2021
Event Spotlight
Grillin’ on the River Steak Cookoff in Sugar Tree, TN July 11th of- fers a great time to be cooking some steaks but also provides a great view while you’re doing it. Sugar Tree is a small Tennessee town between nestled Nashville and Memphis. The venue overlooks the Sugar Tree Fork and the rolling hills of cen- tral Tennessee. The pro- moter of this event is Allen Smith from the Boars Night Out Cham- pionship Team and the SCA representative will be Danny Kennedy. This will prove to be a high-
light event for all who attend.
Business Part- ner
You would be hard pressed to go to a SCA event and find someone not using Grill Grates to cook their steak. Not to mention those who turn them over to use the back side of these as a gridle for their ancil-
laries. We are beyond grateful to have Grill Grates as one of our longest business partners, being with the SCA from the very beginning. Thank you Brad and your entire time for the support.
ACE Hardware Points Chase
Month after month we report about the points chase and how it shuf- fles. This month how- ever, we have seen some major moves. It seems as if ever spot in the top ten got shuffled around and we even have a new player on the list with Cheryl Williams sitting in 8th place. Our new leader, Layne Holmes is sitting at 142 points while Sandy Brown is a very close 2nd with 135. You do not want to take your eyes off of the oth- ers such as John Pen- dray, Terry Roan or John Walter Lindsey. Any of these top 5 are within striking distance to take over the lead. But we don’t want to discount the second half of this list either. With the ex- tended season along with how close every- one is in points, it is still anyone’s game.
