Apply Pre-Emergent
• Now is the me to apply that pre- emergent for weed control. It won’t
eliminate them, but it will reduce
weeds. Pre-emergent acts as a barrier to weeds by preven ng
them from germina ng.
Mulch
• Mulch creates a de ned and well-maintained look to your landscape. Three inches of mulch is the rule of thumb between your plan ngs. If you have exis ng mulch, you may just
want to top dress with 1-2”.
• Clean out excess mulch from around shrubs and bushes. If it builds up, you are se ng the stage for insects and disease
while preven ng your plants from receiving essen al nutrients.
• By applying the proper amount of mulch, you will help minimize weed growth, help moisture reten on in the soil, and
regulate the ground temperature.
