Carbon Monoxide Safety Tips
Known as the invisible killer, carbon monoxide is an odorless, tasteless, and colorless gas. Poisoning comes from inhaling enough of
the gas to replace the oxygen in your blood resul ng in death.
Here are some things to consider for your home.
• Add carbon monoxide detectors in both your home and your garage. Place these detectors in a central loca on on every oor and outside each sleeping area.
• Have your chimney checked or cleaned every year.
• Make sure your automobile’s tailpipe is clear of debris
• Call your local re department’s non-emergency
number to nd out what number to call if a CO alarm sounds
and put this number
on speed-dial.
• Test your CO alarms at least once a month.
