Chris was out of town when I called to ask her about Simkiss, but she returned my call about a week later, very worried that I might not get her comments about how “terri c Simkiss is” into the story. “We use them for surety bonds and they’re always there when we need them. More recently, in addition to surety bonds, we’ve also used them for a lot of performance bonds, sweepstakes bonds, games of chance bonds and oth- ers. We’re always throwing something new at them, and most of the time, they have an answer at their nger- tips, and when they don’t, they’re great at getting the answer.”
And clients aren’t the only people singing the praises of Simkiss & Block. Community business leaders like Michael Heller, CEO of Cozen O’Connor, one of the prominent defense law rms in Philadelphia with of ces throughout the United States, call Brian a “superstar and a wonder- ful guy and partner to his clients. The people at the agency really understand business and business issues so they can be the best advisors to their cli- ents. That’s a real differentiator.”
Ernst & Young Philadelphia Of ce Managing Partner Chris Bruner says the agency is “outstanding and I fre- quently recommend Simkiss to clients.” He goes on to point out that they are good corporate citizens. “I’ve worked with them on several community events. They’re very involved in the entrepreneur of the year program, as
well as other community events. It’s a great rm because it has good people. Everybody I’ve met from the agency has been great.”
Brian concludes: “It all goes back to what a client deserves, and that’s the best possible insurance program and risk management advice and the best service. To achieve that, this agency has no silos. We don’t have traditional producers. Emails from clients often go to several people so that they get an immediate response if someone is out of the of ce. This system allows us to give employees time off when they need to go to a child’s graduation or their rst baseball game, and it’s one
of the reasons we’ve been voted one of the Best Places to Work in Insurance in each of the past few years.
“We also have cultivated great relationships with our insurance com- pany partners so that we can get the customized programs we need for our clients,” he adds. “And we’re a member of the Worldwide Broker Network so we can seamlessly service large clients with operations around the world.”
Rough Notes is pleased to recog- nize Simkiss & Block as our Agency
of the Month. Their philosophy of “extraordinary being the ordinary way of doing business” makes them an exceptional choice. n
“While our goal is to become the agency for
all of our clients’ insurance, we will still
work with organizations that want to try us out on one policy because I’m sure
we will eventually win the account.”
