 0 INCE ancient times the art of the band/weaver has always received primary attention. Museums through/ out the world testify to this, with their precious fragments carefully preserved and given their rightful place as records of a most worthy art. In every age fabrics have been an expression of the period in which they were woven. This is evident in the materials used, in the type of yarns
and threads, and in the manner of execution. Whether the purpose was a saddle bag or a queen’s dress, between the weaver and the user there has always been a close alliance.
With the development of the band/loom and a wide range of working materials, the band/weaver is challenged
