Xylem, primary. (204) — First formed xylem, differentiated from an apical meristem. Note:
Ordinarily at the edge of the pith.
Xylem, secondary. (205) — Wood produced by a cambium.
Xylem mother cell. (206) — A cell that is cut off on the inner side by a fusiform cambial initial,
but which undergoes further periclinal division before differentiating into a xylem cell
