Description of the congruence of the institutional research agenda with regional
and national priorities especially with concerned government agencies.
Research is one of the fourfold functions of the University together with instruction,
extension and production. The research agenda of the University is in consonance with regional
and national priorities trust with concerned agencies such as NEDA, DOST, CHED, etc. As
member of the faculty, everyone is expected to conduct research in their own field of
specialization. This enhances the capabilities in performing their instruction, research, extension
and production functions.
Description of Stakeholders’ participation in the formulation of the research
agenda.
The formulation of the research agenda is a collaborative activity of the University officials,
LGU, Provincial Government, the target clientele. At present, RDET strategic planning is
attended by the faculty researchers. The research agenda for the University is based on the
national research agenda. During formulation of research agenda, all campuses are represented
by their research coordinators and campus research chairperson. Such that;
1. The members of the University Research Council (URC) is composed of the
following:
1.1. University President- Chairperson
1.2. Vice President for Research, Development, Extension and Training
(RDET)- as the Co-Chairperson
1.3. Director for Research – as the Vice Chairperson
1.4. Research coordinators of the different institute/campuses serve as
members
2. The URC shall serve as the policy making body of the Research and
Development Division, and the clearing house of ideas, especially in the priority
setting, implementation and evaluation of the RDET program of the University
