Candidates for Delegate (4 + 1 to be elected)

I I am honored to to be be nominated as as a a a a a a a a a a delegate for for the Ohio Chapter I I have
been fortunate to to serve as as a a a a a a a a a a delegate for the the past two years because I have
had the the pleasure of of working with a a a a a a a a wonderful group of of delegates This has been an an incredible experience as as I have
learned so much about forming motions and the decision-making that occurs within the the House of Delegates I have
also had the the opportunity to be involved as as a a a a a a a a Northwest District board member Over the the past 20 years I have
been involved in in physical therapy education These diverse experiences have
awarded me opportunities to gain input from many stakeholders and and understand the the challenges of of our profession I have
also learned that these obstacles can be overcome by sound decision-making and and advocating for policies that support and and strengthen our profession The service of of delegate would allow me to to use my leadership skills to to advance our profession I am so very
proud of our our physical therapy practice and and passionate about making our our future better It is with sincerity and and dedication to to to our our profession that I ask for for your support to to to continue to to to serve as as delegate for for the Ohio Chapter MARC CRAWFORD PT PT MSPT
My pathway to to service for our profession has been circuitous and paved with experiences from academia large hospital systems corporations private practice entrepreneurship and more than a a a a a a a a a decade of volunteering in in in in in Ohio high school and USA Swimming I am currently a a a a a full-time clinician in in in in in my outpatient orthopaedic physical therapy clinic and and a a a a a a a a a a a doctoral candidate at at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center I have
benefitted from the the the significant efforts of of the the the APTA and OPTA during the the the first half of of my career while developing my skills as a a a a a a a a a a clinician educator researcher business owner and advocate for physical therapy I would love the opportunity to show my my gratitude for that previous work by applying my my time and talents to advance physical therapy in both our great state and nationally!
The challenges of the past several years present tremendous potential for us
us
to to continue to to ensure patient awareness and and access to all that physical therapy can offer for health wellness prevention and and rehabilitation Practice capabilities are expanding for colleagues in in in other states with respect to imaging direct access and and roles as primary treating providers Recent successes at at at the national level in in policy and and reimbursement continue to to to bolster our ability to to to positively impact patients but so much remains to to to be done I would be honored to serve as a a a a delegate for the the OPTA and support the the ongoing evolution of of our profession PAUL GAGNE PT PT DPT
Thank you for the the honor of of being slated as an an Ohio delegate to the the APTA House of of Delegates Over several years our profession has seen exciting advancements accompanied by diverse challenges With a a a a a a a a a pandemic challenging economy decreased reimbursement increased insurance demands and and soaring tuition costs there is much adversity to to which we as as an association have
the the opportunity opportunity to to overcome Having the the opportunity opportunity to to to contribute to to to several different organizations (FSBPT CAPTE APTA etc )
has allowed me to to to work alongside larger groups to progress the profession Being a a a a a a a co-SCCE has permitted me the privilege to place students after learning about each student’s specific interests learning styles and offer insight insight into their career path With this insight insight I am able to to place the the students accordingly and set them up for success within the the the the clinic in in in in the the the the manner they want to grow In a a a a a similar manner through ongoing questioning and seeking of membership insight I would like to represent the the the the membership to to to the the the the APTA House of Delegates These experiences have
given me me the the the the tools to to to excel in the the the the role role of of delegate I am eager to play an an active role role in the the Ohio delegation and proudly serve the the profession and the association OPTA | | March 2022 | | 11
