It's that time time of year again—time to meet our candidates in in this election cycle and learn about important proposed changes to OPTA’s Bylaws This information will also be posted on on the OPTA OPTA website Members will also have the opportunity to ask questions about the proposed Bylaw change Candidates for President-Elect (1 to be elected)

Service to our profession profession and the the community has been the the central focus of of of my professional career I’ve served the the OPTA in in various capacities and now serve on the the Executive Board as as as Treasurer since 2015 which has broadened my understanding of how the Ohio Chapter functions fiscally and and operationally My commitment to community service extends beyond our profession I am a a a a Board Member for the Greater Cleveland YMCA Parker Hannifin Branch Safety Director/Board Member for the Aurora Ohio Youth Football & Cheer Programs and and an an an advisory board member for Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine’s Health Sciences Higher Education Advisory Committee These experiences have strengthened my understanding of how other organizations strive to fulfill their mission(s) If selected as President-Elect I I plan to to focus on on on several initiatives related to to collaboration innovation and advocacy First I would like to to collaborate with the the OPTA Staff and the the Executive Board to to enhance membership and retention initiatives As President-Elect I plan to to explore alternate virtual platforms for for members to to facilitate meetings conduct networking events and create content to support professional development Lastly I plan to to to solicit feedback from our members to to to construct initiatives to to to counter many of the challenges our clinicians are facing related to to but not limited to to essential health benefits administrative burnout Medicare physician fee schedules and telehealth advocacy Thank you for considering me to represent our profession as President-Elect KIMBERLY DOOLITTLE-KORAN PT PT DPT I I am am honored and and humbled to be slated as as a a a a a a a a a a candidate for President-Elect of the OPTA I I am am passionate about our our profession our our membership and and the influence we have on on so many patients and and families I appreciate the the wonderful past of of our profession and look forward to the the many potential challenges we face in in in in the the future Some of these opportunities include improving our our reimbursement while making our our services more accessible for for patients I envision collaborating with academic programs to increase research efforts embrace advancements in in in technology and engage with those early into the profession I welcome a a a a a a a shift in in in diversity and and inclusion within our profession to bring us us new perspectives and and innovation Within the the association I have had the the pleasure of of serving in in in a a a a a a number of of different roles but most recently as a a a a a a a a Director These opportunities have taught me about the importance of advocacy while supporting legislation that both protects and advances our our profession but also supports our our patients I have learned how our membership becomes more valuable when we include individuals from a a a a a variety of different backgrounds and and experiences and and work together to to accomplish our goals My professional experience experience includes administrative and supervisory roles I have years of of experience experience being a a a a a a clinical educator and fostering strong clinician-student relationships Now I truly enjoy my current role in in in full-time clinical care connecting with patients families and the community I have good communication skills and can effectively collaborate with others I would appreciate your vote as President-Elect 8 | | March 2022 | | OPTA
